Villicana Family Lemon Drop Event 2010!

(An update about our Lemon Drop!)

As some of you might know, each summer I choose a charitable event for Sebastian, Brooklyn and I to participate in, to teach the boys the importance of volunteerism, charity etc...
Last summer we held a huge garage sale and donated all of the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

This summer we have chosen to hold a Lemon Drop for Soles 4 Souls
A Lemon Drop is a lemonade stand/ drop zone for gently used shoes, that will be
re-disributed into communities both locally as well as globally where they are needed.

The more that I thought about the event this summer, the more I kept thinking that there
had to be a way for me to make this event bigger and better than last years garage sale event.

I contacted the local Farmers Market in Vista and told them about an idea of having the Lemon Drop at their market on a busy Saturday morning. I suggested that the boys and I could advertise and promote weeks in advance to insure a terrific turnout.
The director of the Farmers Market agreed and said that he would donate the space to me in exchange for including the name of the Farmers Market on any signage that
I created. I happily agreed.

I then contacted multiple local business to see if there was anyone willing to donate large amounts of lemonade, so that all of tips/money that we receive that day would go straight to your charity. I am in negotiations with both Hot Dog On A Stick and Chick-Fil-A and should know within the week whether or not they will be able to provide us with the lemonade for our event!

We have set a date, and I am thrilled to announce that the Villicana Family Lemon Drop will take place
at the Vista Farmers Market on Saturday August 21, 2010.

Woo-Hoo!!!!  That's me being super excited!
