Hello.

Were you able to stop by The Idea Room for a visit today?
If not, here is what I was sharing...
Enjoy!

Last week I was in need of a second cake stand.
I hit the local thrift stores to see what I could find to make one of my own.
Here is what I came up with.
Two Plates, a candle stick holder and a rusty old coffee can...
Two adorable new cake stands!

If you like what you see and would like to make
a cake stand of your own, please follow these simple instructions.

Choose yourself a base that looks substantial enough to hold the weight of your cake without tipping over.( It was love a first sight for me  and this candle stick holder!)
And this little ole' thing... Who could resist?
Choose a plate that is going to sit atop the base that you have already chosen. Consider the size of the plate and what size cake you would like to be able to display. Also, take into consideration the color, texture etc... of the base.
Use some glass epoxy to adhere the plate to the top of the base...
The coffee can was smaller than the bottom circumference of the plate that I had chosen for it, so I traced the top of the coffee can with a permanent marker, prior to covering it with the epoxy.
Then I laid the coffee can atop the traced circle... And waited for it to dry.
About thirty minutes later, I was done!
(If you might like one of these delicious treats to go onto your new cake stand,
please follow this link to view an amazing recipe!)
Thank you so much for having me as a guest today.
Take care and have a wonderful day!
xoxo Corey

The cup cake liners are Wilton's brand, and they were purchased at Michael's craft store. Thank you for your interest!

This is so awesome!!! I have been in the market for a cakestand for quite some time, but have never really found one that struck my fancy. I love the idea of creating my own. Thanks so much for the great inspiration.
