The Flat Stanley Project

Good afternoon from sunny Southern California! We are enjoying an absolutely beautiful Saturday here, and I hope the same for you.
I am thrilled to announce a very fun little something that Sebastian and I have been talking about for the longest!
The Flat Stanley Project.

(For those of you who don't know Flat Stanley... Let me introduce you!)
Flat Stanley is a fictional character from a series of children's books.
For more information, please click here.

Anyhoo... In one chapter of the first book, Stanley decides that it would be a good idea to put himself into an envelope and ship himself to California to visit some friends. So off he goes to California...

Our idea is to send a paper cut out of Flat Stanley to a lucky recipient. Once received, the recipient will  take a picture of Flat Stanley doing something fun in your  home town... Indoors. outdoors, we don't mind!

You will upload and email the picture of Stanley to my personal email address.
(Which will be provided to participating homes) and let us know where the picture was taken.
For example...

Here is Stanley visiting the Villicana family in San Marcos California

Then please sign the back of the Stanley cut out with you families last name and the date. Please do so small enough so that other families can do the same.

Inside the envelope that Stanley arrived in will be the forwarding address to the next home that he will be visiting.

At this point you will place him into an envelope and send him on his way. We are going to see how many homes he can visit and how many states he will arrive in.

Sebastian and I will track his travel progress and post pictures as they come in.

If you are a family that is willing to participate in our project, please leave a comment on this post with your email address or a way to further contact you.

(To re-cap, if you are a willing participant, you must be able to photograph Stanley and email me the picture. Also, you must be willing to forward him to another address after his visit in your home, which will take a few moments of your time and the cost of a stamp.)

The order of homes visited will be in the order of response.

We are really excited to see how far Stanley can travel, and what he is going to be doing along the way!

Have a wonderful day!

(The opportunity to participate will be open until this coming Friday the 26th, as Stanley will be shipped out with the mail on Saturday!)

Corey,
What a fun project. Alyssa's class is doing something similar using the Flat Stanley over spring break, we just read the first one, planning to read more soon. We would gladly participate, but he wouldn't travel far =)
