Fabric. Wall. Decals.
I am thrilled with the outcome of the wall decals and would love to share what I learned with you.
Here is a quick tutorial just in case you love these little birdies as much as we do!
Step 1
Choose the fabric that you will be using and create a stencil of a printed silhouette of the object that you are going to be making into the wall decal.
(That seems awful wordy... I hope it makes sense!)

I knew that I wanted to make little birds, so I googled bird silhouette and used this one as my pattern.
Step 2
Use your pattern to trace out as many birds as you would like, onto the backside of you fabric. Cut out your birds.
Step 3
Get out you trusty ole' iron and it's best friend the tiny ironing board!
(How cute is that ironing board?)

Step 4
Open you package of iron on adhesive and follow the directions that are written on the back. I used this brand and it worked like a charm...
Step 5
All you have to do from here is lay out your little birdies onto your ironing board face down,
and lay the Heat Bond over their backside. With your iron set to a medium setting gently press the iron onto the heat bond for 2-4 seconds.
Step 6
Cut you little birdies out of the heat bond. They should look like this on the front...
and this on the back...
Step 7
Using your iron on a low setting, apply the decals to the wall by pressing the iron against the wall for 5-8 seconds, or until the fabric in bonded to the wall. (This is a temporary bond. In order to remove your decals simply lift at the corner and pull up.)
Step 8
Stand back and marvel at the adorable new fabric wall decals that you have created in well under an hour!
I love these little birds and think that Brooklyn's room is coming together beautifully!
What do you think?
Oh, and please take notice of the paper garland that I whipped up for him last night. I used my Martha Stewart Punch and some thread to add just a bit of cheer throughout the room!
You can find yours here.

I gotta get me one of those punches. Cute idea ironing the birds to the wall. I LOVE it!
I looove these Corey!! I gotta try this!! Thanks for the idea!!
What a fab idea! I had no idea that you could do that. I think I might have to try it at our next move. It's hard living in rentals and knowing I can't do too much to the walls, but this would be fantastic!
May I ask where you got that wall hanging that says spread your wings and fly??
those birds are wonderful! I love them so.
I just realized that for you to respond you might need an email, I was the one who asked about the spread your wings and fly. email is cuulchk@aol.com
Thanks Lisa
Those birds are just so cute. I love the fabric you used too. What a great idea!
XOXO
