sewing bag with fabric corsage

(as stated at the beginning of my attempt to recreate all fifty of Sania Pell's beautiful projects,

I  may slightly alter the project to fit my own need for the item in my current life.)

I adapted her "sewing bag with fabric corsage" into

Valentine's Day bags for my little boys to take their goodies to school in.

 Materials and Equipment

Heavy Fabric such as ticking, denim or canvas
Tape measure and long ruler
Pencil and scissors
Iron
Pins, needle and sewing thread
Fabric or grosgrain ribbon for handles
Fabric scraps

1.Mark and cut fabric to the desired size.

2. Turn under and in, press and pin. Machine stitch in place close to the turned under edge.

3.Fold the rectangle in half crosswise with right sides together. Pin the raw edges together along both sides. Press the seams open.

4. Add handles of the desired length, machine stitching each handle to the bag.

5. Add embellishments to the bag.

A bit of hand embroidery really added a sweet touch to the finished bag.

Enjoy!

Those are cute! But the Valentines are even cuter!!!! What a great idea!

On a sidenote: There is a hallmark commercial with a little boy and his grandpa and the little boy looks so much like Brooklyn! Everytime I see it I wonder, is that actually him? It is probably just because this kid has the same face shape, eye color, hair color, and haircut that your Brooklyn has.... But I always think of you when I see the commercial!

Sorry - hope that doesn't sound creepy. I don't comment often but am always lookin over your blog for ideas and inspiration!

Thank you! Sheena, that is too funny! I've seen that commercial, but I will have to pay closer attention to the little boy next time it airs! Not creepy. Thank you! xoxo
