A. Long. Time. Coming.

This is  a project that has been years in the making.
I started collecting baby clothing from both boys just after they were born and sticking them away with the intention of one day creating a quilt, made of  the sweetest and most sentimental articles of clothing that I had from their infant hood.
Last week I placed the finishing touches on a baby clothes quilt and I couldn't be more pleased.
Here is some of what I included.
A piece of Sebastian's Dash pajamas that he wore nearly every single night
for a year when he was three...
Sebastian's tiny tee-shirt from the hospital where he was born...
A piece of Brooklyn's little brother tee-shirt...
A corner of Sebastian's original crib bedding...
A piece of the tee-shirt my husband Anthony was wearing in the delivery room
the day that Sebastian was born.
Baptismal outfit...
The tiny hat that both boys wore home from the hospital...
And a multitude of other little pieces of childhood stitched up with loving intentions.
There is no way that I could have done this without the guidance and support from one of the best friends that a girl could ask for. Thank you... You know who you are.

i've been saving my two little boys' clothes to eventually do the same thing! your quilt came out beautiful - it's so sweet & full of love & memories. these early years go so quickly - i look forward to having something for both of them to treasure & snuggle with & also remind me of when they were small & wearing those little clothes.

Just popped over from a link at Fairfield House. You quilt is amazing. I wish I could sew memories together like that. How clever of you to keep things so you'd have them to make this memory quilt. I kept the baptism gowns that my sons and daughters wore and hope to find a way to display them in some memorable way. Nice job and I am enjoying your blog.
