Welcome Home.

When I was eighteen years old, I decided that the local community college here where I grew up would be the best place to further my education. My mother and step-father had recently acquired a home near the campus that had a huge yard. And so my step-father thought that it would be a great idea to convert one of the old barns on the property into a livable space, where I could stay while I was in school. He spent the large part of a year and a huge amount of thought and effort to make that old barn into a little house. When the renovation was complete, we had a three bedroom home which was tiny, but cute as can be. I lived in the barn for some time that year but after meeting the man that would turn out to be my  husband, fate took its course and I was off with the wind.

When my husband lost his job in September, there is no way that we would have thought that six months later, he would be having such a hard time finding employment.

We decided to take the high road.
The road less traveled.
We decided that everything happens for a reason.

After much thought and deliberation, the decision to move out of our home and into this barn
came quickly.

We are incredibly lucky to have had a place to go.

We have been given a tremendous opportunity to recover financially and a chance to rebuild a foundation for our future.

Thank goodness for our family and friends that have been supportive and loving throughout this ordeal.

Thank goodness for a positive perspective and a realistic perception of what really matters at the end of the day.

Thank goodness for my step-father's idea all of those years ago, and thank goodness for the barn.

Our. New. Home.

The truth of the matter is that I would live in a hole in the wall with my husband and these little boys by my side.

I don't need anything but love to live this life.

That being said...

This is the only picture that I have of the tiny barn house. There it is. Right there behind my beautiful sister, that half painted tininess... That is the barn. That is home.
Did I mention the huge yard?
Well...
In the yard, there is a rooster .
And a fire pit...
Where you can make one of these just about any time that you please...

A tire swing...
A clubhouse...
And lots of open space for little boys to run free.
And at the end of the day, just steps from the doorway...
Amazing sunsets.
Seriously...Who can complain?
Life is good.
No...
Life is Great.

BEAUTIFUL . . . What an amazing treasure and I'm right there with you, I would live anywhere as long as I had the 3 loves of my life with me, as they are what truly make my days rich and beautiful. Can't wait to see you this weekend.

This bad economy sure puts everything in perspective doesn't it. Your boys are so blessed to have an open area in which to run and play. Happy birthday to your little one.

Sounds like you have had to make some huge decisions in a short amount of time but I couldn't help thinking of how wonderful it is that you and you family are literally living in a home that love built! It looks like an amazing place and I'm sure your boys will be thrilled to be so close to their grandparents! Wishing you the best for you and your family!
