Mrs. Sones Christmas Snow Ball Cookies

This is by far the favorite Christmas cookie in our home...
Mrs. Sones lived next door to my mother and her family in Dunkirk Indiana. My mother tells the story that my Nana and Mrs. Sones would exchange cookies at Christmas time and that this cookie quickly became a favorite to my mother and her family as well. My mom would make them each Christmas while growing up in her home, and I am pleased to do the same for my little ones.
Here is the recipe for these simple yet delicious cookies...

Ingredients
1/4 pound butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup pecans chopped
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Cooking Directions
Cream the butter and vanilla until smooth
Blend in combined granulated sugar, flour and nuts
Roll in walnut sized balls
Bake on an un-greased baking sheet at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 10-15 minutes. Prepare two plies of powdered sugar. Roll baked cookies into the first pile, covering completely. Allow to cool again. Roll the cookies again in the second pile of powdered sugar.
Set aside for 5 minutes. Enjoy!
