simple gift #4

Orange Slice Ornaments

When Sebastian asked me if there was something that he could make for his friends this year, I knew just what it was that his gift should be. We made these orange slice ornaments yesterday afternoon and have been enjoying them before they will be packaged and sent off with a note to Sebastian's dearest of friends.

Pick, slice, bake, glitter, hang, enjoy.

Bake for 2 hours on your ovens lowest setting...
(A little gift for you... Your home will smell wonderful while the oranges are in the oven.)
Give as gifts to those you love.
A small gift for one of life's greatest gifts,
Friendship.

Christmas Music

I wanted to make a few small gifts to keep with us in the car throughout the month of December, in order to gift people on a whim or to slip someone a little surprise, and make their morning. Christmas music is a large part of what I love so dearly about this holiday season. I composed a CD of my top ten  favorite Christmas songs and burned them to disk. Now the recipients of the disks can enjoy a little piece of musical cheer throughout the month.

Oh holy night, the stars are brightly shining...

simple gift #2

Chalk Clipboards

When considering a gift that they boys could help to make for their teachers this year, this idea came to mind. I love the classic look and feel of the schoolhouse green chalkboard and the multi-funtionality of the clipboard. Each clipboard took less than thirty minutes to make, and will hopefully be cherished for years to come.

Merry Christmas!

simple gift

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season has definantly begun.

(It's my most favorite of holiday seasons.)

This year I have decided to take a more simple
 approach when gift giving.

I'm returning to the handmade gift.

The beauty and thoughtfulness on an item
that was made by hand with it's recipient in mind.

Simple. Beautiful. Thoughtful. Gifts.

I thought I would share with you
a few of the simple gifts that I'm making for my loved ones,
in hopes that I might inspire you to do the same.

Layered Floral Note Cards

This idea was adapted from a beautiful handmade card that a dear friend of mine made for me last year. When I received it, the sweetness of the card competed heavily with the sweetness of her handwritten note. Call me old fashioned, but I believe that a set of twelve of these note cards with matching envelopes would be a wonderful gift.

This year, for someone I love very much, they will be.

These paper rosettes are my newest obsession. They might become yours as well.
