Thank You Buddy

Here is the little thank you that I left out for Sebastian to find yesterday after school... His prize for being such a big help while his Papa was away? A new, non tangled Slinky and a "detective thingy" to help him find stuff! He said it was what he has always wanted! Perfect!
Five Year Old Perfection
So I've been told that part of what comes with having a five year old child, is having a child who begins to take interest in what he or she wears... I suppose that this is true of my five year old as well... This afternoon after a quick swim, I asked Sebastian to go upstairs and dress himself...Not in pajamas and not in a Halloween costume, but in clothing that we could go run errands in... Here is what he chose. All pieces of clothing were different variations of the color red, including his shirt, pants, gloves, and socks... Excluding underwear...completely. I smiled as he rounded the corner to where I was seated. He smiled too and asked,"Do I look funny Momma, or do I look perfect?" Perfect baby, perfect.

Motherhood Is...
I came upon this series of stories told by various mothers, at various stages of their mothering experiences. I have read each of them and can relate to each of them as well... The words are real. The experience is real. The entries moved me, and forced me to tap into the pain of loving so much, that it literally hurts. If you are interested, which I hope you will be, pour yourself a hot cup of tea, grab a few tissues, and come here... (Post is called Motherhood Is.. and begins half way down the first page displayed...)

Little Things
Today was a wonderful day, filled with excitement and glee, not to mention just about as much green as two little boys can handle. Green eggs, milk, juice... Green bath water, twice. Green shamrock shaped sugar cookies sprinkled with green shiny sprinkles. A green leprechauns hat wound with sparkling green clovers, and two darling brothers dressed in green from head to toe. A hot corned beef dinner, and a homemade Leprechaun trap, set for the second night in a row... Little things, little details, that hopefully one day will make my little boys reflect fondly on even the littlest of holidays.
It is the night before St.Patrick's day,I could not have been much more than three years old. My sister and I lay in our beds as my mom prepares us for a restful nights sleep... She has us both dressed in pajamas that are sure to have the color green throughout. She tucks us into our beds, but underneath the sheets, our green pajamas could no longer be seen; leaving us both vulnerable to the ever dreaded leprechaun pinch. My sister brings this to my mothers attention, so mom goes and finds green ribbon to tie atop both Kelly and my head. Green clearly visible. Sisters, safe and sound.

Spring Shop Update!
The Leprechaun Trap
Last weekend, Sebastian and his Papa built themselves their very own leprechaun trap! We set it out tonight along with a few warm shamrock- shaped sugar cookies, in hopes of luring a little green guy our way! Sebastian thinks that it would be suitable for the little guy to live in his room with him... All pending his capture of course! Stay tuned for the mornings results...
Lucky Us
I was given the idea to make a St.Patrick's Day book for my family; in order to represent all of the reasons that we are "lucky" to have each other. I love the way that this little book turned out and will continue this tradition for years to come! Here is a sneak peek at the finished copy... All of the entries are very sweet, sweetest of course are Sebastian's pages... The words that he chose for each family member,(including Bella our cat), are so thoughtful... Although, the illustrations are what melt my heart. Lucky Us...

Fun Facts
Did you know that this is Women's History month? I was happily surprised to learn so! Here are a few crafty and clever, woman- invented, can't live without products! Thank heaven for these savvy women!
- The Wind-Shield Wiper- Mary Anderson 1903 Tired of cleaning her windshield in bad weather, Anderson designed a hand operated mechanical window-clearing device.
- The Dishwasher- Josephine Cochrane 1886 Frustrated by hand washing dishes, Cochrane created a machine that held soiled tableware is place for washing by internal water jets.
- Scotchgard-Patsy Sherman 1955 Removing stains might be more of a challenge were it not for scientist Sherman, who developed the emulsion that keeps spills from soiling treated fabrics.
- The Modern Curling Iron- Jessie T.Pope 1946 When curling iron were warmed in a fire or a stove top, the heat could not be adjusted. Pope created a device whose temperature could be controlled.
- White Out- Bette Nesmith Graham 1956 As a secretary, Graham experienced her share of typos. In her kitchen, she whipped up a paint formula that could be brushed over ink mistakes.
Still Waiting
My hard working Mac genius over at the Apple store has ensured me 3-5 more days until I am one happy girl with her big beautiful computer sitting proudly atop her big beautiful desk! I can't wait to update you on what has been going on the last two weeks! I have had an extra amount of spare time to work on many new; and formerly half completed projects! Much to share and hopefully much to inspire the beginning of your spring season! I can't wait...

Perfect Park Party

Sebastian's birthday party was held at one of his most favorite parks this year.... The day was perfect; filled with many friends, family members and memories to last a life time... Oh and eighty degree weather! We were so glad that he was able to spend his fifth birthday exactly the way that he had wanted to... We love this little boy so, so much! Happy Birthday Sebastian!
